A Warcraft 3: Reforged Review

Warcraft 3 Reforged or Redundant?

Warcraft III: Reforged Review

Lets have a deeper look with this Warcraft 3: Reforged Review

So as most of us know at the beginning of 2020 Blizzard released a Remastered version of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos/Frozen Throne.

Perhaps this was a sign of the rough times ahead?

Or perhaps it was a way to renew the comminutes interest in the franchise?

Regardless lets take a good look at this beloved game that may have lost more fans than reignited…

The Bad

Lich King Warcraft 3

So come launch date as is with most games that seem to be coming out lately…

There were a slew of bugs!

Not only were there a crap ton of bugs come the release they were even slower to come out with patches to fix them.

According to most sources after the reveal at E3 the company cut the funding on the project by nearly 60%…

Another huge complaint that the franchise received is the custom maps no longer belonged solely to their creators…

This was one of the biggest offenders…

If you haven’t played any of the custom maps on Battlenet then you may not know what I mean.

Essentially players created their own games using the Warcraft 3 Map creator and some of them are incredible with their own sprites and mechianics.

There was a game made to appeal to any player, roleplaying, story, slaughterfest, you name it someone made a great game to suit those needs.

Blizzard was saying that if any of those maps got played on their servers then Blizzard could “own” those maps themselves and profit on them if they so choose…

Another big problem most people were having is that if you switched from classic to reforged or vice versa mid campaign then you lost your progress… until you switched back.

The Good

Jania and Arthas Warcraft 3

That being said Blizzard did deliver on its promise to remake the game to be compatible with todays age of computers.

Despite the bugs that involved the visuals in the beginning, the game does launch old visuals with some fresh polish and class.

Keeping all the old characters familiar but giving them that fresh new look.

So going off those standard alone Blizzard delived its promise of it being a Remastered Game.

Even now they have released some new patches to balance the game mechanics better…

So will it resurface and get a good trend going despite its rocky beginning?

Honestly even if you hate the campaign (personally I don’t know why you would its a classic), the custom maps is where it is at. I have logged over 100 hours of playing the games in there(not just sitting in the lobby).

My hopes is some attention comes back to those cause 15 years there was a great community that made some great content from it…

This concludes the Tinker’s Warcraft 3: Reforged review.
